It has been many years since a train has graced the station in Lismore. But the Building still stands as a local icon in South Lismore and one that has a history which few buildings can match.
Being a train Station naturally made this building the first port of call for many who ventured into the area in times past. Long before cars were over crowding our streets, the train used to make its stop at the Lismore station and people would step into Lismore for the first time.
The building itself still retains some of the architectural features from years ago that class this as a local icon, but unfortunately the trains no longer put the steal rails to the test. Do you have a memory of the Lismore Train Station? We would love to share that memory with galah.com.au readers.
