Phil : Six years ago, I started Money Matters following 30 years working in the banking sector at different banks. The reason I went into broking was very simple. I'd been a senior lending manager, it was very frustrating not being able to provide clients with different types of products. I'd seen an avenue where the market was heading towards third party introducers, so six years ago I made the step and started North Coast Money Matters. The business is purely in finance, a major part of our business is mortgages - home loans, investment loans.  : Tell us a bit about yourselves...
Phil :This is purely a family business, my wife Kathy who commenced this year is the office administrator and I do the finance side of things
 : What sets you apart from other businesses; why should people shop with you?
Kathy: I think what sets us apart from other institutions is the personal service we give to our clients. They know they can call us back at any time if there's a problem. So it's personal service that stands out in our line of business. Phil:Finance is a very competitive environment. People come to us because we are independent, we are fully accredited with all banks and outside that system we have 70 different lenders whose services and products we can offer to our clients. So basically when people come into our office they are walking into an institution with over 70 lenders and it's unbiased.  :Why is local business important to you?
Phil: Simple, we're local people - our children have jobs within the local area, the people we deal with, 90% are local and we buy and shop and support local industry as much as possible because that's where we come from.
